Let's Talk About Death, Baby: A Workshop on Mortality and Yoga

Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 1-3P at Howard Gnesen Community Center

We are all going to die. This is a reality for us all, although many of us seek to avoid it. We live in a culture that for the most part doesn't talk about death, end of life care, funeral practices, or the disposal of bodies.

Yoga has a lot to say about death and dying. Some might even say it is the reason for the practice--to one day be able to lie down in corpse pose and let go. In this workshop we will explore the cultural taboos around death and dying, and the real meaning of corpse pose.

Let's talk about what it might mean to die a skillful death. Bring all of your death related curiosities and questions.

*Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available for taking this course if you are a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.*

The following books will be used as resources for the workshop if you'd like to read them beforehand, although it is not required.
